13 verses. Micah from the mountain of Ephraim, has an expensive transaction with his mother involving 1100 Shekels, and he erects with it a worship place. One day a levy from Beth Lechem is coming across this house of prayer, and Micha offers the Levy room and board and turns him into a high priest.

31 verses. Curiously, Tribe Dan has not yet properly settled in Israel. So five emissaries went scouting for a place to settle. The ran across the residence of one Micha, and took fancy with the young man he hired as a priest, with all the paraphernalia thereto. They consulted the priest who promised them a good future. Further on they ran across an isolated peaceful city: Laish. The scouts then led 600 well armed Tribe Dan soldiers back to Micha's house, prevailed upon the young priest to join them, took the priesthood paraphernalia with them, and moved on. Micha chased them, but had to resign to his loss, they were too strong to use force against. Tribe Dan executed a surprise attack on Laish, and killed its people. The word did not get out fast because Laish was isolated. They changed the name of the city to Dan, and there they lived.
