  • Exodus Chap 25: Divine (specific) Instructions to build the A God Presence Construction

    God instructs Moses to raise contributions and donations and construct a temple for God's presence amidst its people. 40 phrases. God says this is for Him to be residing within his people. Curiously the measures of the construction, and the material of construction are very specifically mentioned.

  • Exodus: Chap 26: Specifications for Putting Together the Artifacts in the Holy Tent

    37 verses: instructions for the craftsmen how to craft the parts in the Holy Tent.

  • Exodus Chap 27: ornaments for the alter, the everlasting fire

    21 verses. Detailed specifications for building the alter, and instructions to light an everlasting candle in the tent of God's residence -- the Mishkan.

  • Exodus: Chap 28: Constructing an elaborate assembly, and rituals for the high priests

    43 verses. Divine instructions for Moshe to construct an elaborate assembly of jewlery and precious stones to represent the twelve tribes of Israel, and to be part of a strict holy ritual of conduct in the temple. Special mention of the need to have covering pants, so that the the priest genitalia will not be exposed in the holy temple.

  • Exodus: Chap 29: More holy Rituals for the High Priests -- Sacrifice of Domestic Animals

    46 verses: a specific sequence of gestures regarding the slaughter of bulls, and sheep to express God worshipping. Designating small part of the sacrifice as food for the high priest and his sons.

  • Exodus: Chap 34: Second Chance: Moses Recreates the slabs to the 10 commandments, and rewrites the law

    35 verses: God instructs Moses to rebuild a new set of stones to write the commandments on. And God re-instructs Moses in the essence of Jewish ritual: three times a year going to the future temple, celebrating passover, not cooking a calf in its motherr's milk, honor the Shabbat -- and that's about it. Just keep to these instructions, Israel, and God will take care of you in the promised land, defeat your enemies before you, and give you good life. But if you don't follow God's word, revenge of divine proportions will be your fate. When Moses climbed back down from his second ascent on mount Sinai, his face were radiating and beaming for all to see.
